A Better Place

Attitude: There is a No Tolerance policy for bad attitudes.  We are all here to have fun and learn.  If a student is bringing negative energy into the room (i.e. talking bad about other students, not paying attention,  talking back to a teacher) they will be asked to go to the office. If the problem can not be resolved parents will be called for pick up. Parents, if you are having a bad day you have the option of staying in your car. The rest of us do not have the option of leaving so if you are complaining and being negative it creates a negative environment and nobody wants that!

ID Card: Any student entering the building must have an ID card and a registration form on file containing a parent signature. There is a $10 fee for lost ID cards. All students must check in at the front desk with their id tag prior to starting class.    

Drop off and Pick up: This must be done by a parent.  If other arrangements are necessary you must notify an employee of  A Better Place. Students will not be allowed to leave the studio alone.

Food and Drinks: There will be no food in the dance rooms, water only (sports top bottles only).  Water and healthy snacks are sold at the studio for $1.  For students that need to eat while at the studio they may do so in the lobby.  We ask that you do not bring gum, candy or soda into the studio.

Absences: Dance is a learning process and any missed classes are discouraged, but we understand that children get sick and things come up.  Please call the studio ahead of time and let us know when you will be absent. If you have a doctors note you may make up your class. If you choose to take your child out of dance for a family function or vacation tuition is required to hold your childs place in class. 

Dress Code:

Combo Classes 3-4 yr olds and Pre’s 5-6 yr olds: Tights, a leotard of any color and proper shoes (Ballet shoes or Tap shoes) must be worn. Jazz shoes will not be required for these classes.

Ballet 7 yrs and older: Dancers must wear pink tights, ballet shoes and a dark colored leotard (black, brown, dark green, purple,navy). If you are unsure of the color bring the leotard in and ask. Hair must be in a bun. 

All other classes 7 yrs and older: Dancers must wear a leotard with tights or pants down to the knee.  Bare legs and bare midriffs are not acceptable and proper shoes must be worn. Hair must be pulled away from the face and we ask that all dangly jewelry, long earrings, necklaces and bracelets, be left at home.

Tuition and Fees

 Our dance year will start on September 7th, 2009 and end on June 20th, 2010.  Tuition will be due the beginning of every month. If tuition is paid by the 10th of the month you will get $10.00 off.  In our dance year of 2009-2010 there are 9.5 sessions.

YEARLY CHARGES

Registration Fee: An annual $15 fee is required to register.

Costume Fee: If a student chooses to participate in the end of year recital, the costume fee is  $60 for each class. Combo classes will get one costume with two different bottoms, therefore this costume fee will be  $75.

Recital Fee: There will be a $35 recital fee for each student to particpate in the end of year recital. Included in this fee are two tickets to the recital and a T-shirt for the student.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are $25 for half an hour and $40 for one hour.  If a student would like a solo choreographed, the choreography fee is $125 and includes the first two hours of instruction.

SMALL GROUP AEROBICS

AND PERSONAL TRAINING

Small group aerobics classes and personal training sessions are available. You may choose from step aerobics, body sculpting, boot camp, yoga, Pilates or Zumba. The instructor is certified in all classes offered. Personal training is $40.00 per hour for one on one. Small group charge is $50 per hour with 5 or less people.
